De tekst op de bijgeplaatste Plaquette luidt:
'SON EN BREUGEL
LIBERATED ON THE 17TH OF SEPTEMBER 1944, BY THE 506TH PARACHUTE INFANTRY AND ELEMENTS OF THE 326TH AIRBORNE ENGINEERS. THIS TOWN WAS THE COMMAND POST OF THE 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION DURING THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF THE HOLLAND CAMPAIGN. THE 506TH PARACHUTE FIELD ARTILLERY, AND THE 81ST AIRBORNE AA BATTALLON, SUCCESFULLY REPULSED ALL ATTACKS ON THIS POSITION FROM D-DAY TO D PLUS 3, THEREBY ENABLING DIVISION HEADQUARTERS TO ESTABLISH THE COMMAND FUNCTION SO NECESSARY TO THE SUCCES OF THE OVERALL MISSION.
