Oorlogsgraven Ronse

Op de Oude Begraafplaats van Ronse is het graf van 2LT Gilbert A. Malrait, geboren te Central Falls, Rhode Island, USA uit een Belgische vader en een Engelse moeder. Verbleef enkele jaren te Ronse maar keerde terug naar de USA juist voor het uitbreken van de oorlog. Hij kwam om toen zijn B-24 Liberator neerstortte op 4 april 1944 in Roemenië. Na de oorlog werd hij als onbekende herbergraven op de Amerikaanse Begraafplaats Neuville-en-Condroz. Na identificatie mocht hij in Ronse worden begraven.

Op de Oude Begraafplaats van Ronse zijn 18 oorlogsgraven van het Gemenebest uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, waarvan één onbekend, en twee uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
