Monument HMS Cricket

Dit monument staat in het Manor Farm Country Park en herdenkt de marinebasis HMS Cricket die hier lag, waar de bemanningen van de landingsvaartuigen die werden gebruikt bij de invasie in Normandië werden getraind.

COMBINED OPERATIONS AND
LANDING CRAFT BASE
1943 - 1946
To honour the memory of those members of the landing craft crews who sailed from this base and gave their lives during the D-Day landings in Normandy and in later sea-borne operations.
Also to commemorate the vital part played by all personnel from HMS Cricket in the liberation of Europe and the final victory
