Jacques was born on June 13 1915 in Montreal, the son of Marquis Hugues Fernand de Cordoue (Frenchman) and Marquise Marie Rose de Cordoue nee Higgins (French Canadian) of Montreal.
He was a clerk and member of the Roman Catholic Church. He spoke fluently English and French and his sports were swimming, hunting, boxing, softball, skating, skiing and hockey.
He served as a private from June 1940 till 1941 with The Black Watch Regiment in Montreal. He enlisted then on December 4 1941 the RCAF in Montreal and he went thereafter on April 17 1943 overseas to the UK.
Jacques was killed in action on Thursday September 21 1944 age 29 due to a crash near the Polderstraat - Slopsepad in Randwijk during operation Market Garden. He was temporarily buried then at the churchyard in Zetten before being reburied on October 5 1945 in Oosterbeek. The other fallen RAF crew member was W/Cdr Graeme E. Harrison (DFC) age 29 in grave 4-D-12 and the other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew members were F/Sgt Robert Percy age 25 in grave 4-D-10, F/O Neil Mackay age 35 in grave 4-D-9 and F/Lt Norman E. Skinner (DFC) age 32 in grave 4-D-13. The other fallen RNZAF crew members were W/O Thomas B. Brierley age 21 in grave 4-D-15 and W/O Donald M. Mathewson age 36 in grave 4-D-14. The other fallen (British) RASC crew members were L/Cpl Leslie H. Caldecott age 22 in grave 18-B-11 and Dvr. Harold Gregory age 28 in grave 18-B-7.

He served with the 190 (R.A.F.) Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
