From A Staff point of view this presented great difficulties in the matter of officeer reinforcements. As Bns commenced their actions well up and over strength in ORs - the lack of OR reinforcements was mot serious. But the officer situation becme extremely serious and it was the first time in this theatre that Bns had to face the difficulties of fighting with a very reduced number of officers - in one instance 12 offrs present with the Bn. details of officer casualties will be seen from the strenght states. They were higher than had been anticipated. The dumping of 25 pdr, 4.4 and 3"mortar amn presented no especial difficulties. Details of amn expended and dumped will be seen from the Daily Adm Sitrep. A Div Echelon Canteen and Cinema was opened at OPLOO during the month. Almost unlimited stocks could be sold at the Canteen and the Cinema showed to some 3000- 4000 tps per week.
